Community Engagement and Fundraising Coordinator

Responsibilities:

1. Secure Sponsors and Donations: Actively seek out potential sponsors, donors, and community partners to support RPRP’s initiatives.

Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and individuals interested in contributing to the cause.

Collaborate with the fundraising team to create sponsorship packages and fundraising campaigns.

2. Grant Writing and Research: Research grant opportunities from various sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Write compelling grant proposals and applications, emphasizing RPRP’s mission, impact, and specific funding needs.

Maintain a database of grant opportunities, application deadlines, and outcomes.

Collaborate with the fundraising team to ensure grant applications align with overall fundraising strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent research and writing abilities.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and grant writing (preferred but not required).

Community Relations & Event Coordinator Volunteer

Role Description:

As a Community Relations & Event Coordinator Volunteer with RPRP, you play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our annual Rescued Pups Rescuing People (RPRP) Annual Fundraiser and other community initiatives. Your primary responsibility is to establish and maintain relationships within our community in order to coordinate, promote, and hold a successful, annual fundraising event, whether it’s a luncheon, a dog meet-up, or other annual event. Here's an overview of your responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with local businesses who support the cause of Rescued Pups Rescuing People (RPRP). Maintain an ongoing relationship with regular communications to create a mutually beneficial relationship between RPRP and local businesses and people who support our cause.

  • Supply Management: Keep track of inventory and supplies needed for the annual fundraising event.

  • Information Dissemination: Educate local businesses and current and potential sponsor and/or donors regarding the goals of RPRP and invite them to become involved, whether through a financial donation, a mutually-supportive relationship, or in other ways. Answer questions thoughtfully.

  • Sponsor and Donor Management: Maintain a comprehensive list of sponsors and donors, acknowledging their contributions and ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve.

Volunteer Blogger and Article Writer - Dogs, Dog Health & Wellness, Mental Health, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Homes, Veterans Needs, Benefits of Dog Visits, and related topics

Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation:

Generate engaging and informative blog posts, articles, and content related to mental health, wellness, and the importance of connecting with others, including dogs to help maintain a healthy life balance.

Research and stay up-to-date on relevant topics and trends in therapy dog visits, including via the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) and related organizations.

2. Writing and Editing:

Write clear, concise, and well-structured articles that resonate with people, their caregivers, and the community. Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, grammar, and consistency.

3. Collaboration:

Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to align content with RPRP’s messaging and campaigns.

Interview experts, volunteers, and families impacted by RPRP’s mission to create compelling stories that can touch the hearts of people who may need our help and services.

4. Publishing and Promotion:

Prepare articles for publication on RPRP’s website, blog, and social media platforms.

Assist in creating promotional materials for blog posts and articles to increase visibility and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

  • Strong understanding of mental health, dogs, therapy dog visits, and other wellness topics.

  • Passion for the well-being of the elderly, veterans, and people in general and a good understanding of RPRP’s mission.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.

  • Experience in blogging or writing on similar topics (preferred but not required).

Time Commitment: The time commitment for this role can vary, but volunteers are expected to contribute at least 2-5 hours per week. The schedule is flexible to accommodate each volunteer’s availability.
