Rescued Pups
Rescuing People
We bring dogs to visit people, their owner or others, who cannot take care of their dog on their own.
We LOVE dogs and we LOVE people!
Rescued Pups Rescuing People (RPRP) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that rescues dogs, sometimes with no time left in a shelter facility or that we find in the community. RPRP rescues dogs whose owners can no longer take care of them, such as when the owner has to go into Assisted Living or into the hospital.
RPRP ensures each dog is up-to-date on all vaccines and gets them any health or dental care they need. Then each rescued dog is placed into a foster dog care home until the owner can take them back.
In the meantime, the rescued dog is well-taken care of and loved. The dogs that show specific characteristics, such as a gentle demeanor and are accepting of strangers, are trained to be therapy visiting dogs. RPRP then takes the trained visiting dogs to see, both their owners and others who love dogs, people such as shut-ins, veterans, or those in nursing homes. If you'd like to donate, volunteer to become a Foster Dog Parent, or volunteer in other ways, we'd love to hear from you!
Why RPRP?
The CDC website describes some of the many benefits of spending time with a dog.
"Dogs can ... help to relieve stress and anxiety in people."
You may be unable to care for your dog on your own but long for companion-ship with your dog. If you or someone you know would enjoy the company of your dog but can't manage to care for your dog full-time, then Rescued Pups Rescuing People (RPRP) can bring your rescued dog to visit you!
You or someone you know can benefit from a loving visit from a dog.
You or someone you know cannot take care of your dog.
We bring pups to people in nursing homes, veterans (either at home or in a veteran's facility), children in foster homes, people who are recovering from PTSD, drug abuse, human trafficking, and to anyone either at home or in other types of facilities where they are healing and can benefit from a visit with a dog.
